[This post contains spoilers for the BROOKLYN NINE-NINE episode “Hitchcock & Scully.”]
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE explored Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller) and Hitchcock’s (Dirk Blocker) backstory in the appropriately titled “Hitchcock & Scully.”
Fueled by a call from “IAB,” Jake (Andy Samberg) and Charles ( Joe Lo Truglio) dug into an old case of Scully and Hitchcock’s. Though Jake was suspicious the two may have stole money from an ’80s crime scene for themselves, it ended up being a bit more complicated: the duo took a bag to give to the criminal’s wife/their informant, Marissa, after their captain didn’t follow through with her protection detail. (Marissa’s new life also led to the ’80s-era Hitchcock and Scully to find their true love: Wing Slutz wings.)
Though B99 viewers had gotten bits and pieces of stories about the duo over the years, this marked the first real episode devoted to Scully and Hitchcock. McKinnon Miller and Blocker spoke with reporters about getting to dive deeper into their characters…
