The CW Boss on the Lack of a SUPERNATURAL Spinoff
January 31, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
The CW has made multiple attempts to spin off SUPERNATURAL—which will celebrate its 300th episode on Thursday, February 7 and was just renewed for a 15th season—but network boss Mark Pedowitz indicated back in August that the series success might be dependent on Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. (The network made previous attempts with a proper spinoff, WAYWARD SISTERS, and a backdoor pilot with new characters.)
After his Television Critics Association exec session on Thursday, Pedowitz reiterated that there are no current plans for a spinoff—and another attempt might not be made.
“If there was a spinoff to be had, I would have it,” he told reporters. “That being said, I’ve come somewhat to the conclusion that the show is the two brothers.”
Do you think there should be a SUPERNATURAL spinoff?
