About Last Night…THE VOICE, ARROW, and THE ENEMY WITHIN
March 12, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!THE VOICE: A really good group of contestants in the episode, and a large number of surprise coach picks. Nothing quite as shocking as Kim Cherry’s coach choice, but outside of the last contestant, nearly everyone picked a different coach than I expected.
ARROW: With the show now officially ending next season, I’m glad the team’s time with SCPD will at least let them be themselves versus trying to conform to a preconceived notion of what consultants should be like. Let Team Arrow wear their costumes and use their own tech.
This is nothing against the actors, but man, the future storyline remains absolutely depressing. Outside of the future not really coming true, what’s the “best” case scenario here? Everyone is somehow alive and able to save the city? Okay. But then they still went through hell for decades, including William being abandoned by his father and stepmother, and being completely kept away from his half-sister.
THE ENEMY WITHIN: I think last night’s episode pushed me into changing how I watch the show. I think going forward, I’m going to let a few episodes build up and then marathon them. Jennifer Carpenter is good, but a lot of the other pieces haven’t clicked yet; I think I might be less frustrated with it if I’m able to watch that progress in a binge versus watching week-to-week, especially with a show that would close out my night.
