THE SIMPSONS: Krusty releases an all-female reboot of ìItchy and Scratchy,î so Bart and his crew of all-male friends decide to boycott the show. After Bartís friends turn on him for laughing at the reboot, Bart joins a woke group of sixth-grade girls who commit crimes against patriarchy in the ìBart Vs. Itchy & Scratchyî episode of THE SIMPSONS airing Sunday, March 24 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Guest voices L-R: Chelsea Peretti, Nicole Byer and Awkwafina. Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!

SUPERGIRL: It’s only been two episodes, but there could be a real argument about Jon Cryer’s Lex being the best villain of the ARROWverse so far?  I’m not as invested in Red Daughter as I feel I should be at this point, but Lex’s interactions with her were great. Very curious to see how they bring him in next.

THE SIMPSONS: Nothing made me laugh as hard last night as the joke about a panelist who doesn’t want to be at the convention, but got mad every time attention was paid to someone else. An unfortunate staple at some conventions.

I was relieved the episode didn’t feel skewed; the topic of all-female reboots is delicate, but the show was pretty clear about saying that objecting to it on principle, without bothering to give it a chance, is pretty dumb. I’m sure it pissed off some people, but good for them.

AMERICAN IDOL: Hollywood Week is notoriously hellish, but this go-round has felt particularly brutal. (When you end an episode with a contestant going to the hospital, it’s not great. Uh, and IDOL, “Find out what happened to Nate tomorrow night” was a realllllllllly cold tease.)

It also felt like a lot of the cuts didn’t really land. They always have to cycle through a lot of contestants in a short amount of time, but very few were memorable. But Luke Bryan giving a contestant the literal boots off his feet…that was one of the most emotionally gut-punching moments of the season.

Unexpected Vibes should have all gotten through, too. And…how were more accommodations not made for Shayla?

BOB’S BURGERS: Oh. My. God. THAT PUPPET BATTLE. It was so weird and perfect.

FAMILY GUY: As if the DVD commentary wasn’t wall-breaking enough, the cast talking to their own characters was surreal. (Though bringing Sarah Paulson in as Peter’s first wife was an unexpected choice.)
