ARROW: Emily Bett Rickards Announces Exit
March 30, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
ARROW is heading into its final season sans a season 1 cast member: Emily Bett Rickards announced on Instagram she won’t be a part of the show’s upcoming eighth season.
“Felicity and I are a very tight two,” she wrote alongside a collage of photos of her portraying the character. “But after one through seven we will be saying goodbye to you.”
“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily since season one and in those past seven years she has brought one of TV’s most beloved characters to life,” executive producers Greg Berlanti and Beth Schwartz said in a statement. “And although we’re heartbroken to see both Emily and Felicity leave the show, we’re completely supportive of Emily and her future endeavors. She will always have a family at ARROW. ”
Rickards debuted on The CW series in the third episode, and recurred in its first season. She then went on to be promoted to series regular. Felicity made appearances in other ARROWVERSE shows THE FLASH, SUPERGIRL, and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.
