Netflix finally released a trailer for the breakout show’s third season—which returns to the streaming platform on Thursday, July 4—and the group of friends aren’t exactly sitting in the basement playing games.
“The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy have worked really hard; they understand the stakes are high,” Cindy Holland, Netflix’s Vice President of Original Content said during her executive session panel at the Television Critics Association in 2018. “They really want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did last year. Comments Off on THE VILLAGE: Michaela McManus and Warren Christie on the Show’s Emotional Roller Coaster
NBC is no stranger to putting on emotional, twist-y shows (see: THIS IS US), and THE VILLAGE falls right in that lane.
Per NBC, THE VILLAGE is “an apartment building in Brooklyn that appears like any other from the outside but is quite unique inside. The people who reside here have built a bonded family of friends and neighbors. Sarah’s a nurse and single mom raising a creative teen; Gabe’s a young law student who got a much older and unexpected roommate; Ava must secure the future of her young, U.S.-born son when ICE comes knocking; Nick’s a veteran who’s returned from war; and the heart and soul of the building, Ron and Patricia, have captivating tales all their own.”
The characters are intertwined, some more obviously than the others, and there are a handful of twists in the first few episodes that should set up interesting drama in the first season. And the actors were equally as hooked: though they knew the broad strokes of the season, Warren Christie (who plays Nick) and Michaela McManus (who plays Sarah) said it was special when the cast came together to do their table read and the pieces fell into place.

Following last season’s take on CARRIE, RIVERDALE is embracing HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL on the Wednesday, March 20 hour of The CW series.
Per The CW, “As rehearsals for this year’s musical “Heathers: The Musical” get underway, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), as queen bee Heather Chandler, channels her own HBIC to deal with a recent fallout. Meanwhile, Betty (Lili Reinhart) grows increasingly annoyed by Evelyn’s (guest star Zoe De Grand’Maison) involvement with the musical – as well as the lives of her friends. Elsewhere, Veronica (Camila Mendes) learns some devastating news about her family, and Archie (KJ Apa) and Josie (Ashleigh Murray) make a decision about their future. Lastly, Jughead (Cole Sprouse) makes a surprising move against Gladys (guest star Gina Gershon).”
To celebrate the event, the network released a HEATHERS-themed poster (above) and two new clips from “BIG FUN,” including Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch), Veronica (Camila Mendes), and Betty (Lili Reinhart) singing… Read more
