About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, AMERICAN IDOL, SUPERGIRL, and More
April 1, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday’s TV!
THE SIMPSONS: I love that Nancy Cartwright wrote the episode…and that Lisa realized what a toll her endeavors were taking on her family. It’s odd, and there may be numbers to prove otherwise, but it feels like Lisa is the one character who has changes made that actually stick—her vegetarianism and Buddhism are two easy examples—so I do wonder if this episode will lead to any real changes in her pursuits/awareness of her family.
AMERICAN IDOL: Well, Disney’s three-hour commercial for their Hawaiian resort was a lot. (I respect them getting it into one night, but my goodness, it. was. long.) There were some brutal cuts, and it felt like most of the people they really harped on—Nick, Nate, Shayy—didn’t make it to the next round.
SUPERGIRL: Well, it’s good the people close to Kara don’t believe Supergirl attacked the White House. But it’ll be interesting to see how this impacts things and for how long…Kara can’t talk to Alex about this and will have difficulty clearing her own name as Supergirl. So will the villains just be able to run a bit wild until she’s able to prove she has a double?
FAMILY GUY: It’s kind of crazy Quagmire didn’t mine Lois for tips to hit on women before?!
