About Last Night…THE VOICE, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, ARROW, and More
April 16, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: I really enjoyed the change in format. Admittedly, it was less dramatic than I anticipated—I thought the steals and saves would be delivered during the performance, but this is way more fair—but it also allowed for there to be a real competition.
What actually impressed me was that the coaches actually called out which contestant was better a number of times. Of course the competing ones were biased, but there were a couple of matches that were no-brainers and the coaches didn’t seem worried about offending their colleagues.
LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Oh, this absolutely delightful series. The Bollywood musical element was so brief, but so, so, so great. What a dose of joy.
AMERICAN IDOL: Uh, not great! America made a lot of mistakes—Alyssa Raghu should have been voted in by America—and we really didn’t need to see all 14 perform again.
ARROW: I loved the Canary-focused episode. It was great to see Laurel/Black Siren choose to embrace the Earth-1 people who care about her…and continue with her accountability by returning to Earth-2. But she’s back on Earth-1 in the future, so I’m curious what brings her back and what she’s been up to.
