The SUPERSTORE Cast Teases ‘Quinceañera’

The Cloud 9-ers are heading out of the store on the Thursday, April 25 episode, “Quinceañera,” as they celebrate Emma’s (Isabella Day) big day.

“Her daughter is 15 now—when we started, she was 11—and a lot has changed for Amy,” America Ferrera (Amy) told reporters. “It’s a moment where she’s realizing she’s come a long way. And Jonah is definitely a big part of the experience: them being a couple and him being there with her family there is a big part of the episode.”

And while Jonah’s (Ben Feldman) prior interaction with her parents went well enough, he’s not exactly showcasing his best side at the celebration. “He’s a bumbling idiot and is in that particular episode,” Feldman previewed in the video below. “And makes a bunch of unbelievably awful mistakes in front of tons of people…destroying pieces of the quinceañera and ruining massive moments. Making [Amy’s] parents hate him. It’s sort of your normal Jonah stuff, I think.”

But Feldman embraced the insanity. “It’s my comfort zone making a complete ass of myself,” he joked. “So it was a dream episode for me to shoot. [Amy’s parents are] just barely tolerating him, which is referenced in a speech I make to the entire quinceañera.”

The episode also “explores Jonah’s relationship with Emma a bit more,” SUPERSTORE creator Justin Spitzer revealed—which hadn’t been touched on since Jonah and Amy’s romance began.

However, it’s not all drama: some of Amy and Jonah’s colleagues are finding their own distractions at the party. “Cheyenne and Mateo take full advantage,” Nichole Bloom (Cheyenne) teased. “We get to have a fun little number together.”
