About Last Night…THE FLASH and THE VOICE
May 1, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
THE FLASH: Nora faking out her parents was…a choice. One I bought into, admittedly, because she seemed like every snotty teen on television and it wasn’t exactly out of place. But what a dangerous plan.
I’m so glad Joe and Barry had a real heart to heart about fatherhood and the unconventional road one might take to get there. Obviously Jesse L. Martin was out earlier in the season due to medical issues, but my goodness he was freaking missed.
THE VOICE: Oy. I think the show was ambitious to do the Cross Battles, but, um, the worst team remained the most intact. I understand that’s subjective—and I actually like country; I’ve really loved a good number of Blake’s team members in the past, but this is not a great year—but there were a couple of members from Teams Kelly and John that should still be in the competition.
If the show keeps this round going in future seasons, I wonder if they’ll change things up in the Cross Battles. I can’t imagine Kelly, John, or Adam are at all okay with how much their teams have been demolished. Logically, it’ll almost certainly balance itself out (historically, having that huge of an advantage bites you in the butt), but it could make for a bad few weeks for a few of the coaches.
