TBS has renewed MIRACLE WORKERS and THE LAST OG.
“I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to bring my novel ‘What in God’s Name’ to life in season one,” MIRACLE WORKERS creator Simon Rich said in a statement. “And now that I’ve bled that sucker dry, I’m really excited to tell a brand-new story with the same group of brilliant actors.”
Per TBS, the second chapter of the MIRACLE WORKERS anthology “will be a medieval story about friendship, family and trying not to be murdered. Centered on a group of villagers in the dark ages trying to stay positive in an age of inequality and fake news, this installment will feature series regulars Daniel Radcliffe, Steve Buscemi, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Karan Soni returning in new roles and facing new challenges.”
“THE LAST OG is very meaningful to me and I am blessed to get to work with my family for another season,” said Tracy Morgan in a statement about his comedy. “We are going to go to a whole other level this year. JUST WAIT.”
TBS has also ordered a gaggle of shows: CHAD, SHAQ LIFE, and Untitled Amy Hoggart Project.
Here’s how TBS described the new shows:
CHAD: “A single-camera comedy that follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life and reconciling with his cultural identity.”
SHAQ LIFE: “Summer break for most involves some much-needed R&R…unless you are Shaq. Shaq Life invites viewers to tag along with the basketball legend on his relentless quest to be the ultimate businessman and entertainer. Follow Shaq as he spends his summer on a series of DJ gigs in Las Vegas, an International DJ tour, filming commercials, shooting a film, speaking appearances, hosting the NBA Awards, running his “Big Chicken” restaurant, spending time with his five kids, and much more.”
Untitled Amy Hoggart Project : “Each week, wounded wannabe psychologist Hoggart, who will star in as well as write the series, will attack an issue that makes American lives harder. Completely underqualified, Hoggart will go to ridiculous lengths to tackle issues such as monogamy & polyamory, friendship, and shame – always aiming to make everyone feel just a little bit better.”
