FBI: Sela Ward Exits
May 20, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
FBI will return for a second season, but it’ll be down a series regular.
Sela Ward exited the show with the season 1 finale. In the episode, “Closure,” her character, Dana, decided it was time to retire—after allowing Maggie to remain involved in a highly personal case. (Reps for the show didn’t respond to multiple request for comment.)
Ward joined the CBS series in its second episode; Connie Nielsen filled a similar role in the pilot, but they brought in Ward as a new character in episode 2 versus doing a straight-up recasting.
The actress expressed her thanks and gratitude to the cast and crew in a few social media posts, and noted she only had a one-year deal for the series.
FBI, Tuesdays, 9/8c, CBS
