SUPERSTORE Promotes Kaliko Kauahi to Series Regular

SUPERSTORE‘s Kaliko Kauahi, who has portrayed Sandra on the comedy since season 1, will be a series regular in season 5, NBC confirms.

The move comes as Sandra is poised to potentially have one of her biggest storylines: she got engaged to her long-time off-on (frequently secret) boyfriend Jerry (Chris Grace).

Earlier in the season, Kauahi was a little skeptical about whether Sandra could actually maintain long-term romantic happiness.

“As an actor, you want what’s more interesting,” she said at the time. “But I know the fans would like something good. I’m willing to see what happens. I don’t know if Sandra is the kind of person who can have that kind of contentment in her personal life. But maybe. Maybe that’s the one place where she can be happy!”

Kauahi’s promotion was first reported by Deadline.
