Watch the WATCHMEN Season 1 Trailer

Tick, tock, tick, tock…WATCHMEN is coming.

Per HBO, the Damon Lindelof-developed series is “set in an alternate history where ‘superheroes’ are treated as outlaws. WATCHMEN embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel while attempting to break new ground of its own.” (The Alan Moore story was previously made into a 2009 film.)

In the first trailer for the series, Regina King suits up as a mysterious new character and the world is conflicted as cops and vigilantes both wear masks. (And, while it’s not a direct adaptation, central characters from the original graphic novel are represented in the trailer.) The drama also stars Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith, and Adelynn Spoon.
