FRIENDS’ 25th Anniversary: Looking Back at the Quasi-ER Crossover
September 19, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Fall of 1994 was a big one for NBC, as the network debuted two shows that would go on to be massive hits: FRIENDS and ER.
But when the shows were in their freshman years, they had a memorable (but odd) crossover: ER’s George Clooney and Noah Wyle guest starred in the second part of FRIENDS’ February ’95 two-parter as doctors…but not their County General characters.
Of course, their characters got entangled with Monica and Rachel (who were attempting to date the doctors while also participating in insurance fraud, which may not have been their best idea), and quickly bolted when things got weird. But for an episode, FRIENDS and ER overlapped.
