CHICAGO FIRE Boss Teases ‘Life-Threatening’ Season Premiere
September 25, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
CHICAGO FIRE had its share of emotional curveballs in the season 7 finale—including Brett’s (Kara Killmer) out of nowhere engagement—but the show will start its eighth season in the thick of the action.
“The first episode back is going to be pick up one second after where we ended last season, which [found] all of our characters in jeopardy,” executive producer Derek Haas previews. “One group of them are in a basement of a mattress factory with burning mattresses, which is pretty much as scary a call as you can go on. And then on top of that, there’s an industrial boiler that’s about to explode. So we’re going to pick up right there.”
And while Firehouse 51 has wiggled out of the seemingly impossible before, they might not be so lucky this go-round.
“This one is not going to be just like any of the [other] calls that we have,” Haas says. “When we say life-threatening, we’re going to mean it this time.”
Uh oh…
