About Last Night…SUPERSTORE, GREY’S ANATOMY, LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT, and More

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
SUPERSTORE: Poor Glenn. And really, poor Mateo. It was so hard seeing him in the detention center, and I’m really curious how long the show will play with this. Even if he gets out in the next episode or so, will he be back working in the store by midseason?
GREY’S ANATOMY: Alex’s re-proposal to Jo was SO SWEET.
I was a little concerned about what coupling they’d make in the GREY’S-STATION 19 crossover, but it being Jackson at least feels feasible. I also really disliked Maggie and Jackson as a couple by the end of their run, so I’m happy Maggie might get the chance to have her own SL.
Amelia being pregnant so soon after Teddy had a successful pregnancy makes me worried about what the heck Amelia may go through…
THE UNICORN: This is a show I’ll definitely give more time to. I didn’t love the pilot, but the cast is solid and there feels like a lot of potential.
PERFECT HARMONY: It felt like GLEE for adults. It was cute, but I really hope the show doesn’t brush off the depression/suicidal thoughts going forward.
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: I didn’t realize how much I wanted the friends to be aware that Delilah’s baby was fathered by Eddie until Rome confronted him. Yeah, it’s more dramatic for them to be angry about it, but them acknowledging it and keeping it a secret from Delilah’s kids is still a pretty big looming threat.
I am disappointed that Katherine ran away, though. I go back and forth about whether I want her and Eddie to reconcile, but her abandoning her kid just makes me sad. Even if it is a temporary move, her issue is with her husband, not her kid.
MOM: Bonnie not being good at honeymooning was pretty perfect. I loved that her new (temporary) support group had so many TV favorites, too.
THE GOOD PLACE: Nothing made me laugh harder than the KARS FOR KIDS song being the demons’ go-to song.
It did feel like a lot of set-up (probably because I’ve seen the intro scene of the “new resident” that ended up being a plant a number of times at conventions and events), but I’m already sad we’re losing this gem.
CAROL’S SECOND ACT: This very much feels like the show it needs to be, and I’m not sure if that’s a show I need to devote time to right now. Thursday is…a lot. I may check back in later in the season and catch up, but Thursdays are too bonkers as it is. (And this is prior to The CW joining the mix.)
SUNNYSIDE: Much like THE UNICORN, I was underwhelmed, but see enough pieces/potential in it to stick with it.
EVIL: I love the cast, I love how out there it is. I do wish the demon hadn’t talked in the bedroom—it felt like it that made it a little lighter versus terrifying. But I’m really intrigued to see what they do going forward.
LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: Poor Carisi is going to be in over his head, huh? But it’s very sweet that in the first episode of the show’s milestone season, the series’ only remaining original star (Mariska Hargitay) is now officially the Captain of the squad.
