Fox is launching its latest procedural with a twist on Monday, September 23, and it’s one heck of a doozy: in PRODIGAL SON, a criminal psychologist, Bright (Tom Payne), is very good at his job, but his serial killer father complicates basically everything.

On one hand, his family is attempting to live a normal life. But his mentor, Detective Arroyo (Lou Diamond Phillips), sees the potential in him and Bright finds he works well with the NYPD.

In the series, Rudd plays Miles, “a man struggling in life,” per the streaming platform. “When he undergoes a novel spa treatment that promises to make him a better person, he finds he’s been replaced by a new and improved version of himself. As he deals with the unintended consequences of his actions, Miles finds he must fight for his wife Kate (Aisling Bea), his career, and his very identity.” The eight-episode series was created by Timothy Greenberg.
