CHICAGO FIRE Boss Derek Haas Teases the Midseason Finale—His 50th Writing Credit!

CHICAGO FIRE co-creator Derek Haas helped craft the massive three-CHICAGO series crossover earlier this season, but he also has a personal milestone coming up: his 50th writing credit.

“It feels like yesterday we started doing CHICAGO FIRE,” Haas told reporters in the video below. (In addition to FIRE, Haas developed CHICAGO P.D., which he co-ran initially, and CHICAGO MED/CHICAGO JUSTICE.) “That’s a lot of writing!”

The episode is also going to be a big one—the show’s midseason finale.

“I’m telling you, I’m throwing a lot of big things into the winter finale,” he teased. “I pitched some things back in June to Dick [Wolf] I was worried we weren’t going to be able to pull off or pull together. And it’s all come together.”
