About Last Night…THE VOICE and PRODIGAL SON
October 29, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
THE VOICE: Wow, Taylor Swift was a really great Mega Mentor. I’m also really thankful the Knockouts went back to the original format. Last season was interesting, in theory, but the wrong people often went through and gutted the wrong teams.
(Also, the “Wrecking Ball” battle was probably my favorite of that round.)
PRODIGAL SON: SO MANY CREEPY CHILDREN ON TV THIS WEEK. I felt bad for Bright that he was wrong and empathized with a kid who ended up being a killer. But it was lovely when Gil pointed out he never would have let Bright go down a dark path.
Martin made me laugh multiple times this week, both in acknowledging his terribleness as a white man, but also with him delight in Ainsley’s hypothetical dance. I assume this interview will go down, but it feels like it’s going to unleash a whole lot of other problems.
