About Last Night…BATWOMAN, WATCHMEN, THE ROOKIE, and More
November 4, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
BATWOMAN: Alice is the best part of the show, so it makes sense that her backstory would be the best episode of the series so far. It makes sense she’d be so messed up—and why she’d be so connected to Mouse. But now that everyone is admitting she’s Beth, it’ll be interesting to see how they handle her going forward.
THE SIMPSONS: The show felt BOB’S BURGERS-levels of punny last night. It was fun to see Lisa be an accidental good influence on Bart, though of course he took it an extra step too far.
BOB’S BURGERS: Oh my God, poor Tina had a WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING moment.
WATCHMEN: The best episode of the series so far. Jean Smart is so damn good. Now that a lot more ties to the graphic novel are coming into (official) focus, I’m very curious how it’s going to all tie together. (Also, please let’s have Regina King and Jean Smart in more scenes together.)
SUPERGIRL: A lot of the episode felt predictable, but those contact lenses feel way too realistic. (And like a preventable nightmare.)
FAMILY GUY: I’m actually shocked it took this long for a cat cafe to be brought into the show, but it was hilarious.
THE ROOKIE: Oh, because fires (in real life) aren’t enough, L.A. had to be reminded of nuclear threats? But seriously, it was another solid episode. The “bonus” of a guest star being attacked is I was genuinely unsure if they’d kill off Wesley. I’m glad it seems—for now—he’s safe. It was also great to see what everyone would do in the face of a potential end of the world scenario…you’d think that would count towards some sort of extra training for the not-quite-rookies.
