About Last Night…THE SIMPSONS, BOB’S BURGERS, FAMILY GUY, and More
November 25, 2019 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Sunday night’s TV!
THE SIMPSONS: I didn’t love the first Thanksgiving of Horro installment—the combination of so much animal violence and barely any dialogue didn’t work. However, I loved the second one and really enjoyed the third. The BLACK MIRROR homage was similar to the Pierce Brosnan Treehouse of Horror segment, but also felt updated enough to be relevant. (And it was also fun trying to find the Easter eggs to past BLACK MIRROR episodes.)
AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: Toni Braxton had the best vocal performance of the night. Yowza. Taylor Swift’s medley was a little undercut by the fact that so many artists also did multiple songs, but it was great she was actually able to do it. (And it’s also bonkers how far her music has evolved over the decade.)
BOB’S BURGERS: I was just so sad for Bob as soon as he got the turkey, because of course it was going to blow up in his face. There would have been no episode if things hadn’t spiraled. But I was pleasantly surprised that even post-the turkey falling in the makeshift fire, it was cooked inside and the family was able to enjoy it.
FAMILY GUY: The gag about too many TV shows on too many platforms that no one has heard of…spoke to me.
But, hey, prison has to be a new way to get out of Thanksgiving, right?

For a second, I thought Pierce might have had an uncredited cameo as a computer voice. Comic Book Guy himself most assuredly noticed the similarities in the automated house motif. Who am I to argue with him?
@Matt: I thought the same thing for a second, too, but I believe that was actually BLACK MIRROR creator Charlie Brooker!
