FX has shared a first look at the star-studded cast of MRS. AMERICA, most of whom are portraying real people.
Per the network, MRS. AMERICA “tells the story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), and the unexpected backlash led by a conservative woman named Phyllis Schlafly, played by Blanchett. Through the eyes of the women of that era – both Schlafly and second wave feminists Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm, Bella Abzug and Jill Ruckelshaus – the series explores how one of the toughest battlegrounds in the culture wars of the 70s helped give rise to the Moral Majority and forever shifted our political landscape.”

Monica Lewinsky will serve as a producer. [Update, January 9, 2020: FX now says they don’t expect to make the originally announced air date due to the production schedule. LOVE ISLAND Executive Producer Dishes on the Fun Soundtrack

CBS’ LOVE ISLAND has been a delightfully weird experiment, as the network has aired the exploits of contestants as they attempt to find love (and survive the game) in a Fijian villa. And while there has been much to enjoy about the show, the music they’ve managed to score has been incredible.
From modern music (“Lover”-era Taylor Swift) to covers of classic songs to tunes that get worked into the Narrator’s jokes (Paula Cole’s “I Don’t Want to Wait”), the tracks have formed a killer playlist and helped shape the show into what is is.
Ahead of its Wednesday, August 7 season 1 finale—the show has already been renewed—executive producer Simon Thomas answered a few emailed questions about their musical process… Read more
