Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!

CHICAGO MED: Oh, cool, as if there weren’t enough reasons to be petrified of people recklessly shooting guns in the air… (I mean, it’s never been safe.)

The family who had to abandon their son also broke my heart. What a horrific choice: give up their son to save his life or keep him and risk everyone’s safety.

Will’s safe injection site side job is going to blow up in his face soon. That’s not a spoiler, it’s just the looming feeling of dread. Especially now that a patient is actually a fellow doctor.

THE MASKED SINGER: The clues for the Llama were really good and obscure. This go-round, it felt like White Tiger’s clues were a lot more vague—though I remain convinced he is who I thought he was last episode—but it felt like Kangaroo’s telegraphed, at the very least, her name? (I wonder if that’s because to half the audience, they truly may not know her when she’s revealed—outside of the situation she discussed from last year—so the name means nothing.)

CHICAGO FIRE: Man, Gorsch seemed so authentic, too. I’m glad Boden was able to get the suits, even without Gorsch’s two-faced help.

I’m so glad Tim has Dusty. (The poor man lost everything! LET HIM HAVE HIS CAT.) It’s tragic he lost his wife, but Brett, Casey, and the rest of 51 showing up for him at the end lifted my heart in the best way. (And David Selby was incredible.)

LEGO MASTERS: Wednesday nights are traditionally bonkers, so I don’t know how much I’ll be watching this show night-of, but I really enjoyed it. Will Arnett was an effortless host, and the meta vibe was a lot of fun.

It’s difficult to distill SO many hours of building into less than a hour of television (because you still have to account for contestant talking heads, commercials, and then the elimination segment), so I’m interested to see how it feels when we do start losing contestants and the remaining competitors have more time to be showcased.

CHICAGO P.D.: Guessing this was coming didn’t make it hurt any less. Poor Burgess. Poor Ruzek. I truly don’t know how one would get over this, because Kim did everything she could to stay safe. But when faced with the choice of sitting back and risking the life of someone who needed immediate help or protecting herself, Burgess did her job…and paid the price. Marina Squerciati was stellar in the episode, especially in the final scenes. I could see this messing up the team for a bit of time, because whether it’s rational or not, no one was able to get to Burgess in time. [For more on the episode, here’s what Squerciati had to say.]
