LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Jes Macallan and Grainne Godfree Tease a Killer Adventure in ‘Slay Anything’

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW has tackled all sorts of eras and out there scenarios, but can the team survive a killer out for revenge at a high school reunion?

On the Tuesday, February 11 episode, “Slay Anything,” serial killer aficionado Ava (Jes Macallan) is absolutely delighted to learn their latest Encore is a notorious serial killer who was executed for his crimes…but now seems to be back.

“All of a sudden, as so many LEGENDS episodes happen, I read it and I’m like, ‘Oh, Ava’s obsessed with serial killers,'” Macallan said with a laugh to reporters in the video below. And the obsession runs deep: In the hour, Ava reveals she actually has her own podcast on the topic. (Though Macallan has dabbled in listening to podcasts about murders, she admitted she’s terrified of the horror genre.)

The episode has a number of homages to both horror flicks and teen movies from the ’80s. “When we were breaking the story, we were really thinking about Final Girls,” executive producer Grainne Godfree shared. “Every episode of LEGENDS, though, you have to dig deep into a genre.”
