About Last Night…SUPERSTORE, GREY’S ANATOMY, A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, and More

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
SUPERSTORE: I know it’s irrational, but I would like a cereal bar, please.
I was actually really impressed with how much they tackled in the episode, plus the addition of new sets. Also, Jonah and Amy fighting while also going through with their romantic plans? Perfect. (And on brand for a couple who also exchanged their first “I love you”s while fighting.)
Also, it was kind of crazy to see Dina so enamored so fast she put her responsibility (briefly) aside. (For more on the episode, director Kris Lefcoe reflected on her experience.)
BROOKLYN NINE-NINE: The Pimento storyline got a little bit old/repetitive, but still a funny episode. I loved that the squad going through the training so fast led to a real fight.
GREY’S ANATOMY: I loved this episode, even if the wait to find out who fathered Amelia’s baby is going to drive me bonkers. I get why she’s putting it off, but it’s also unfair to the potential fathers. And at some point, you’d think it might be helpful to know who the father is for purely medical reasons.
I loved, loved, loved Riley. I appreciated that she was badass, was firm about the path she wanted to go down; I truly hope Suzanne ends up surviving this illness. (Also, I had no clue deaf/hard of hearing doctors were utilizing virtual interpreters, but that’s an incredible use of technology.)
And I know it’s early, but however they write out Alex, I just want Jo to be OK.
WILL & GRACE: The episodes airing out of order last season was wildly frustrating. Them airing out of order this season, when there are two pregnancies going on, feels indefensible.
MOM: Bonnie has grown so much! I’m also happy for Marjorie that she’s moving on from her husband.
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: I’m already so sad for Regina and Rome with this adoption situation. I’m glad they found a birth mother they like, but the birth father being a threat does not feel like it’s going to end well for any of them.
I’m really glad Sophie learned more about her mother and Delilah’s unhappiness in her marriage. The problem I’m having is the show did a really good job of establishing how unhappy both Eddie and Delilah were—and truly in love?—when they had their affair. And, frankly, they needed to in order to make sure the characters were at least compelling in the aftermath of it being revealed. But it often feels like the show isn’t quite sure how to acknowledge that while also still allowing for Eddie and Katherine’s marriage to exist (which is the path the show seems to be on now) and thrive.
(This is very, very small, but the Eddie/Katherine/Theo dinner looked delicious and I was actually bummed they wasted so much on a food fight.)
LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: Um, Rollins’ backstory for her fake marriage sure did mirror one of her real relationships…
I did like Hasim, and I’m curious how much the show will show him going forward. I do think the unit could use another person who is new-adjacent just so Kat isn’t going through this growing experience alone, but it certainly seems like if he comes back, it’ll be more tied to Rollins.
