SEAL TEAM Post-Mortem: Toni Trucks on Lisa’s ‘Roller Coaster of Emotions’

SEAL TEAM returned with a two-hour block as the team faced trouble on all fronts in Venezuela, as they attempted to rescue a kidnapped CIA agent.

As Bravo Team set off to release the prisoner, Havoc was under attack—and Lisa’s (Toni Trucks), Mandy (Jessica Paré), Blackburn (Judd Lormand), and Mack (Coby Bell) had to tear down their operation and fight their way out.

But things got dicey when Lisa had a close call, and found herself pinned down and alone…until Blackburn showed up and saved her life.

“It’s been such a sort of a roller coaster of emotions with Davis,” Trucks said at the show’s midseason premiere panel. “But now, in season 3, we’re really experiencing these growing pains of drawing those lines in the sand with people that she loves and also having to be responsible for them when they’re out in the field. And so negotiating that’s been really uncomfortable for her.”

In the aftermath of the attack, Bravo Team reached out to reiterate how important she is to the team, but Lisa struggled with her own self-doubt. “You’re experiencing her realizing that there is a compromise that comes with having an office job, that some of her skills might be becoming a little bit rusty,” Trucks admitted. “And so she’s sort of reckoning with where does she want to live [career-wise]? Where is her expertise going to rest itself? And [she needs to figure out] just where she needs to sharpen her skills.”

But, of course, they’re going to need to safely get out of Venezuela first…
