LEGENDS OF TOMORROW’s Jes Macallan Reflects on Her Show-Stopping Moment: ‘It Was an Out-of-Body Experience’
March 4, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
As LEGENDS OF TOMORROW’s Ava (Jes Macallan) adjusted to life post-Time Bureau in season 5, there have been a few bumps in the road.
But the most delightful expression of Ava’s struggles was in the episode “Miss Me, Kiss Me, Love Me,” she drunkenly sang Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison”—while hallucinating she was putting on big-band performance.
“I can’t sing and they made it happen,” Macallan gushed to reporters in the video below. “It was an out-of-body experience for me. That was my STAR IS BORN moment.”
“It has become one of my favorite all-time scenes that we’ve shot,” executive producer Grainne Godfree admitted. “And it [started off as] a little funny thing in the [writers’] room where you’re like, ‘This can be fun, this is crazy.’ And then Ava gone wild, man.”
