Netflix has released the key art for its upcoming adaptation of THE BABY-SITTERS CLUB and officially revealed who will be playing the Kristy, Mary-Anne, Dawn, Claudia, and Stacey.
According to Netflix, BSC “follows the friendship and adventures of Kristy Thomas (Sophie Grace), Mary-Anne Spier (Malia Baker), Claudia Kishi (Momona Tamada), Stacey McGill (Shay Rudolph), and Dawn Schafer (Xochitl Gomez) as the middle-schoolers start their babysitting business in the town of Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Rounding out the cast, Alicia Silverstone plays Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the selfless single-mother of Kristy Thomas and love interest of all around good guy Watson Brewer, played by Mark Feuerstein.”
The show, based on the Ann M. Martin book series, was previously adapted into a short-lived television show and a 1995 film. Rachel Shukert is the showrunner, while Lucia Aniello is a director/executive producer. (Martin serves as a producer on the Netflix adaptation.)
