Couch Madness: ‘Bound’
March 23, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
In honor of what should have been NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is launching our own kind of bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)
The seeding is simple: rather than quality, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.
The first round will run from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 30, with the final face-off starting Monday, April 6.
The final title? “Bound.” Keep reading for the bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the polls. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)
LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (1): “The investigation into the murder of a senior citizen leads the squad to suspect that the killer is actually a serial killer who preys on elderly women.”
CHICAGO MED (8): “Sharon is visited by the Department of Homeland Security regarding two airplane stowaways who are brought to the hospital with major injuries.”
LEGEND OF THE SEEKER (5): “When Sister Nicci casts a powerful spell on Kahlan, linking their fates, Richard is forced to protect the evil sorceress while Kahlan has to confront her past in an attempt to break the spell.”
FRINGE (4): “Olivia has been abducted, and Broyles and the Fringe division must investigate her disappearance – while also undergoing an audit by an agent from Olivia’s past who bears a major grudge against her.”
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE (3): “The men of Enterprise fall under the seductive control of three Orion women. Trip is the only male member of the crew not to succumb to the women.”
THE SECRET CIRCLE (6): “There’s peer and other pressure aplenty to get Cassie to bind the Circle, all except from Faye who doesn’t favor the idea of her reckless whims being controlled. Grandpa Henry pays a call to investigate a complaint of misused magic.”
INTRUDERS (7): “Rose confronts Jack to explain the cause of Amy’s recent strange behavior. Amy’s past – which she has worked so hard to suppress and deny – has come back to haunt her and the only way to protect Jack may hurt him the most. Meanwhile, Richard discovers a secret about Rose that could destroy her ascent onto The Nine. Shepherd himself is skating on thin ice as Madison continues to evade his grasp.”
SMALLVILLE (2): “ALex gets wrapped up in a sex/murder scandal. Clark gets Lionel’s help to get Lex out of trouble. Lana meets Jason’s mother, whom she has seen before in a dream, which was set in the 1600s.”
