Couch Madness: ‘Ghost(s)’
March 23, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
In honor of what should have been NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is launching our own kind of bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)
The seeding is simple: rather than quality, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.
The first round will run from Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27. Round two will kick off on Monday, March 30, with the final face-off starting Monday, April 6.
First up? “Ghost” (or “Ghosts”). Keep reading for the bracket, episode descriptions (from IMDB), and the polls. (For the other episodes competing, check out all the brackets here!)
JAG (1): “While the admiral and his girlfriend jog together, they encounter a prankish booby trap; then Bud brokers a deal about a goat and a midshipman. Later A.J.’s lady dies in a real explosion at his house; he, the gang, and Webb work it out.”
CRIMINAL MINDS (8): “Following a series of fatal shootings, the BAU team travels to Des Plaines, Ill to investigate what appears to be a copycat serial killer. There efforts are thrown off track when members of the BAU are targeted.”
REVOLUTION (5): “Everyone is devastated by Danny’s death. Miles and Nora set out to recruit a former militia comrade. Meanwhile, Rachel attempts to elude the grip of Randall.”
CASTLE (4): “A woman found drowned in a bathtub full of motor oil is initially identified as a missing suburban housewife, until it’s discovered that her identity had been stolen from a deceased child, and that she had been a fugitive from a terrorism charge for two decades.”
DOLLHOUSE (3): “A wealthy backer asks the Dollhouse for help when his daughter is kidnapped. They send Echo to negotiate the release. One of the memory imprints used to prepare Echo for the mission causes some complications.”
CHICAGO P.D. (6): ” Upton resumes an undercover identity to take down a meth ring run by a former criminal contact; Voight calls in a favor for Olinsky when pressure from Woods mounts.”
LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT (2): “When a wealthy couple is found dead in their home, Benson and Stabler soon realize that their deaths are connected to a drug smuggling ring. Eventually the road leads back to the same drug dealers who forced a former assistant district attorney into hiding, and Alex Cabot comes home to face her enemies.”
ONE DAY AT A TIME (7): “At her ex’s wedding, Penelope experiences a surreal conversation. Elena finds she has more she needs to say to her father. Dr. B. gives Lydia her “non-iversary” gift.”
