About Last Night…SUPERNATURAL, THE VOICE, AMERICAN IDOL, and More

Let’s talk about Monday night’s TV!
SUPERNATURAL: To very loosely paraphrase my favorite FRIENDS scene, that was a whole lot to try to fit into one episode.
First of all, oh my God, the alt-world Sam and Dean. They’re rich? HUNTERCORP?! Not to compare it to the DC ARROWverse again, but it feels like “Crisis.” Will that be the last version of Dean and Sam we see before this all wraps up?
It was nice to have Ruby back, but I really wish they had found a different way to do it. That being said, it was fun/lovely to have Jo and Ruby together given their real-life bond.
And, hey, Jack’s soul is back. That should make things extra messy. Though, in some ways, it worked as another quasi-cliffhanger, since the show is now off the air for the foreseeable future.
THE VOICE: Uh, a lot of the male-on-male battles sounded really, really, really rough? I feel like this may have been the toughest night of battles, with vocal quality, since this round was introduced. A really weird disappointment.
AMERICAN IDOL: There were also vocal issues during the final round of Hollywood week, but that at least makes a bit more sense.
I do respect that even though there was a medical emergency—and they showed the mayhem around it—they didn’t show a contestant having seizures. There’s a way to milk drama and there’s a way to be absolutely freaking gross about it. I’m glad they respected their talent to not put her in the position of being shown when she was in that kind of distress.
PRODIGAL SON: So, that final look of Malcolm’s was a bit alarming. What the heck is he going to do now?
