Couch Madness Round 2: ‘The End’

In honor of what should have been NCAA tournament season, Give Me My Remote is running our own kind of bracket, pitting similarly titled episodes against each other: Couch Madness! (Credit for the excellent name goes fellow reporter Chris Hayner.)

The seeding is simple: rather than quality, we’re going by air date (with the oldest episode getting the #1 slot and the newest getting #8). With Peak TV, this will not include every single show that has used this title; rather, we picked a selection from what was available.

We’re now up to the second round, which will run from Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3. The final face-off will start Monday, April 6.

THE X-FILES (1): “A government assassin is caught trying to kill child chess prodigy Gibson Praise during an international chess tournament. Mulder’s old flame Agent Diana Fowley arrives to help on the case but Scully is suspicious of her.”

LOST (4): “Locke searches for Desmond to achieve his goal of destroying the island. Jack, the newly-appointed “protector” of the island, sets out to stop him. In Los Angeles, the survivors slowly reunite and recall their island experiences.”

SUPERNATURAL (3): “Dean awakens five years in the future in an abandoned city and is attacked by humans infected with a demonic virus that makes them mindless, flesh-eating zombies. Zachariah soon appears and explains to Dean that the world he sees is the result of his refusal to help the angels fight Lucifer.”

AGENTS OF SHIELD (7): “Coulson’s life or death is the challenge the team finds themselves in, As the wrong decision will cause the destruction of Earth.”
