EMPIRE’s Final Season to End Early
April 1, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
EMPIRE’s final season won’t finish out entirely as planned.
According to a promo that aired after Tuesday’s episode, the series will end in three episodes, making its final installment hour 18. (The final season was supposed to be 20 episodes.) Deadline notes that footage from episode 19, which had started production before the coronavirus shut down all production, will likely end up in the now-series finale to make the end feel a little more final.
The musical series stars Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard, Bryshere Y. Gray, Trai Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones, Serayah, Vivica A. Fox, Wood Harris, Nicole Ari Parker, Meta Golding, A.Z. Kelsey, Rhyon Nicole Brown, Mario, and Katlynn Simone.
Watch the promo for the 100th episode (airing next week), which touts the shortened end to the season…
