Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE: Truly, nothing better than Cheddar, and when you add in angry Holt? Oh my God. One of my favorite episodes of the show. While nothing should ever happen to Holt and Kevin’s fluffy boy ever again, seeing the men so totally out of their elements with panic—and Jake having to keep up/control them/come to terms with the fact that everyone likes the dog better than him—was incredible.

The subplots were fun, too, but my God…

MOM: Look, that retreat could have gone a lot worse for the women. I’m actually not sure what I was expecting from the episode, but it definitely wasn’t what I thought…it felt like so much of the episode was them in bed, trying to sleep.

I am curious how much the show pursues Bonnie writing. Will she actually pen a memoir?

WILL & GRACE: I’ve been low-key worried about how the show would end this go-round given how much I absolutely hated the original finale, but it feels like they’re now going in the opposite direction, thankfully. As they said, it’s weird, but it works. If they were going to go down the kids route again, I’m glad at least it seems like Will and Grace won’t end up estranged for years.

And, hey, Jack is famous! I’m not sure if I feel sad about Karen being on the verge of reuniting with Stan…but if that’s the biggest issue I end up having with the finale, that’s fine.

LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT: Heeeeeey, Eddie Kaye Thomas. He’s been missed on TV. (Even, uh, if he was a rapist here.)

The episode was one of the best of the season, as the entire team got involved, and it felt pretty—unfortunately—timeless. And good for the show for acknowledging Kat’s bisexuality, but also not making it tied to some kind of trauma. It will be interesting if they actually actively showcase her love life at some point, but obviously the season was cut short.
