Ruby Rose Comments on BATWOMAN Exit
May 27, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
More than a week after BATWOMAN star Ruby Rose revealed she was leaving The CW series, she’s further expanded on her exit statement via Instagram.
“Thank you everyone for coming on this journey,” she wrote, accompanying a fan video of the show. “If I mentioned everyone it would be 1000 tags.. but Thank you to the cast, crew, producers and studio. It wasn’t an easy decision but those who know, know.. I didn’t want to not acknowledge everyone involved and how big this was for TV and for our community. I have stayed silent because that’s my choice for now but know I adore you all. I’m sure next season will be amazing also. Xxx *hangs up cowl and cape.”
At the time of her exit, Rose thanked her WB and CW bosses, as well as the show’s EPs, while acknowledging it was a “very difficult decision.”
BATWOMAN, which was renewed for a second season in early 2020, will be moving forward with “the casting of a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community, in the coming months.”
