THE GOLDBERGS Sets AIRPLANE Homage
July 26, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
THE GOLDBERGS has set its next movie homage: AIRPLANE!
Series star Wendi McLendon-Covey revealed the news during the show’s Comic-Con panel, but acknowledged, “I’m saying that, but I’m not giving anything away.”
“The only thing crazier than having dinner with the Goldbergs is taking an airplane ride with the Goldbergs,” executive producer Doug Robinson teased of the season 8 premiere.
The series has previously paid homage to a number of 80s-era films, including SIXTEEN CANDLES, VACATION, and THE BREAKFAST CLUB.
The cast also revealed that, originally, season 7 was set to conclude with a wedding. Though it won’t be a part of the premiere, it will make its way into the upcoming season. (As of when this was taped, Robinson said the plan is for the show to start filming in August.)
