FARGO: FX Sets September Debut for Chris Rock-Led Season 4
August 10, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
FARGO season 4 will debut with a two-hour bow on Sunday, September 27, FX announced. (Creator Noah Hawley directed both episodes.) Chris Rock leads the all-star cast, which includes Jason Schwartzman, Jack Huston, Jeremie Harris, Ben Whishaw, and Timothy Olyphant.
The new installment of the anthology series, set in 1950 Kansas City, finds “two criminal syndicates fighting for a piece of the American dream have struck an uneasy peace,” FX previously teased. “Together, they control an alternate economy of exploitation, graft and drugs. To cement their truce, Loy Cannon, the head of the African American crime family, trades his youngest son to his enemy Donatello Fadda, the head of the Italian mafia. In return, Donatello surrenders his youngest son Zero to Loy. Intertwined with this tale of immigration, assimilation, and power, are the stories of Josto Fadda, the impulsive and self-indulgent heir apparent to the Fadda Crime Family; Donatello’s adopted son Rabbi Milligan; Detective Odis Weff and Oraetta Mayflower; Ethelrida Pearl Smutny, the precocious 16-year-old daughter of Thurman and Dibrell Smutny; and U.S. Marshal Dick “Deafy” Wickware.”
The series was originally set to debut in April, but was pushed when production on the 11 episodes had to shut down due to COVID-19. FX says the show will go back into production “later this month.”
