NBC Sets September Launch for New Medical Drama TRANSPLANT
August 12, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
Medical drama TRANSPLANT will debut on Tuesday, September 1 at 10/9c, NBC announced.
According to the network, “the 13-episode series centers on Dr. Bashir ‘Bash’ Hamed, a Syrian doctor with battle-tested skills in emergency medicine who fled his country with his younger sister, Amira. Together they struggle to build a new life in Canada as Bash strives to rebuild his career in medicine.” The series stars Hamza Haq, Laurence Leboeuf, John Hannah, Jim Watson, and Ayisha Issa.
The Canadian series will get a major lead-in, bowing after a new episode of AMERICA’S GOT TALENT. In its first season on CTV, the medical drama was “the most-watched Canadian original series and saw audience growth as the season progressed.”
This marks the first official fall premiere date for the network. (The original lineup was heavily skewed toward returning shows.)
