BIG MOUTH Adds Ayo Edebiri as the New Missy

Ayo Edebiri has joined BIG MOUTH as the new Missy, Netflix announced. She replaces Jenny Slate—who stepped back to let a Black woman play the character.

Edebiri will debut as Missy in season 4’s penultimate episode. She also joined the writers’ room for season 5 of the show. (Netflix has already renewed the show through season 6.)

Outside of BIG MOUTH, Edebiri is a co-producer on Tina Fey and Robert Carlock’s upcoming animated Netflix series, MULLIGAN. She’ll also appear on-screen as Hattie in the second season of the Apple TV+ series DICKINSON, which was created for her after she joined that writers’ room.
