CHICAGO FIRE: Adriyan Rae Joins Season 9

CHICAGO FIRE has added Adriyan Rae as a new series regular, NBC confirms.

Rae (who previously appeared on VAGRANT QUEEN and BROCKMIRE) will play Gianna Mackey, a new paramedic at Firehouse 51. According to Deadline, who was first to report the casting, Gianna is a “loveable troublemaker with a twinkle in her eye…She’s no pushover. She’s tough and quick to defend the defenseless, isn’t afraid of a little chaos and rolls with the punches while approaching everything with a bit of wry humor.”

The move comes after Annie Ilonzeh exited her role as medic Emily Foster on CHICAGO FIRE at the end of last season’s COVID-shortened year, wrapping up a two-season run on the show.
