CHICAGO MED Temporarily Shuts Production Down Due to COVID-19
September 29, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
CHICAGO MED has temporarily paused production on its upcoming sixth season due to a member of the production team testing positive for COVID-19.
The individual was sent home after the positive test was discovered during the rapid testing done during the show’s regular safety protocol; the production followed safety guidelines established in the NBCU Production Playbook (set by the state and county), which includes contract tracing.
Due to the impacted person being in close contact with cast and crew, the show played it safe and shut down for the next two weeks. (This is not expected to impact CHICAGO MED’s planned November 11 premiere.)
The shutdown was first reported by Deadline.
CHICAGO MED, Season Premiere, Wednesday, November 11, 8/7c, NBC
