About Last Night…THE GOLDBERGS, BIG BROTHER, and THE CONNERS
October 22, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
THE GOLDBERGS: It’s honestly crazy that this may the only show that can plausibly pull off existing outside of the COVID bubble, and actually be escapism television.
The AIRPLANE! homage was cute, and the second episode was fun as Bev finally tried to push back at Barry and Erica taking advantage of her.
BIG BROTHER: The game for 10 thousand dollars felt so unfair. How do you prove it wasn’t rigged? (Also, “Mem-fist” being the victor….no thank you.)
I’m curious to see how much of a spine Cody has when it comes to vote tomorrow. He has a better chance of getting to the final two with Nicole moving on, but he probably has a better chance
THE CONNERS: This was the exact opposite of THE GOLDBERGS, where the reality of the world was shoved in viewers’ faces. It makes sense, frankly, because pretending the Conners wouldn’t be greatly impacted by COVID would be naive. But, boy, it was a tough premiere to watch. (Also, hi, random Clooney callback.)
