About Last Night…THE VOICE and THIS IS US
October 28, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Tuesday night’s TV!
(Sorry, the greatest thing to air on television last night was the Dodgers winning the World Series, and it’s not even close.)
THE VOICE: I know why the show does cliffhanger coach choices, but it absolutely sucked all the drama out of who a four-chair turn would pick. The tension was so high on Monday night’s episode, and then it was all deflated by the time Tuesday’s hour kicked off.
I don’t know if it’s literally true—I haven’t gone back to previous seasons and crunched the numbers—but it feels like we’re seeing so many single-chair turns. (I assume, again, because of the smaller teams.) But I prefer that significantly more than the no-chair turns.
THIS IS US: It feels like the show is going to have to handle the twist with Randall’s birth mother very, very delicately. They’ve dealt with him learning about a biological parent in the past, so how they handle this now…is going to be a tricky needle to thread.
