About Last Night…THE MASKED SINGER, SEAL TEAM, and I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE
December 10, 2020 by Marisa Roffman
Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
THE MASKED SINGER: This was a bit awkward timing to have the holiday special be right before the finale? And if you’re going to do a non-competition hour, I really wish it was either all-in on past performances or new, non-competition numbers. As it was, it felt like filler, which was kind of a bummer for a show this fun.
SEAL TEAM: Jumping ahead two months was interesting, because, in the original plans, what happened in last night’s episode was supposed to be the end of the season finale.
Giving it room time to breathe was actually a really lucky storytelling break. We got to see the fallout of Jason leaving, Ray’s new gig, Clay dealing with the consequences of his false confession, and Sonny…spiraling. I hope they don’t immediately snap things back to normal, even with Ray’s near-death experience.
I CAN SEE YOUR VOICE: I’ll admit I was 100% wrong: The autotuned version of the Customer Service Agent made me think she could not sing. I thought the contestant was silly for picking her over La Voz. (To be fair, La Voz could sing, too, but…) Good for him for winning $100k.
