About Last Night…ONE NIGHT ONLY, GREY’S ANATOMY, and A MILLION LITTLE THINGS

Let’s talk about Thursday night’s TV!
ONE NIGHT ONLY: This was an absolutely lovely idea, but I was confused by a few of their choices.
With so many incredible shows down, it was kind of odd they did multiple numbers from a handful of shows. Don’t get me wrong, the performances were incredible, but I would have loved to see lesser known shows or even something like MOULIN ROUGE.
GREY’S ANATOMY: Well, that was an absolutely emotionally destructive hour of television.
The show has been really the most responsible show with regards to COVID, but the final voice over while Bailey talked about how these COVID fatalities aren’t just names, but beloved humans whose lives matter…gutted me. It broke me, absolutely. (And then the chaser of the list of names was perfect and brutal.)
I do appreciate that the show didn’t lean too hard into Meredith on the beach. If there had been a new/dead friend there, it would have taken away the trauma from the episode.
I do hope that Bailey gets a break. She’s had a miscarriage and lost her mom in a very short amount of time.
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Well, I’m really glad that Eddie wasn’t responsible for Alex’s death, but I’m really worried about his decision to take pain meds. I do occasionally have difficulties buying his reunion with Katherine, but if they’re going to have drama, I’d really rather it not be him screwing up again.
I’m glad Rome and Regina got on the same page with their grief. And, man, Rome’s scene in therapy broke my heart.
