LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT Stages Mini-CRIMINAL INTENT Crossover

The worlds of LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT and LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT are colliding again.

Annabella Sciorra will reprise her CI character Carolyn Barek in an SVU episode set to air this winter, a rep for the show has confirmed.

In the hour, Barek, now a lieutenant at the Bronx Special Victims Unit, teams up with Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) and Manhattan’s SVU to try and track down a serial rapist who has struck in both boroughs.

During her tenure on CRIMINAL INTENT—from 2005-2006—Barek was partnered with Detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth); her character was transferred to a different department, though the show didn’t disclose why.

SVU showrunner Warren Leight previously worked on CRIMINAL INTENT, and had brought Kathryn Erbe’s Alexandra Eames to the series for a couple of appearances in 2012 and 2013.

Sciorra’s prior TV credits include LUKE CAGE, TRUTH BE TOLD, THE SOPRANOS, and GLOW.

The casting was first announced by TVLine.
