SUPERSTORE Spinoff Not Moving Forward
March 29, 2021 by Marisa Roffman
SUPERSTORE spinoff BO & CHEYENNE is not moving forward, a source has confirmed to Give Me My Remote.
“Unfortunately…NBC notified us that they’re not going forward with the SUPERSTORE spinoff,” Bridget Kyle told cleveland.com, who was first to report the news. “So, it will just have to live on in our hearts and on my hard drive.”
BO & CHEYENNE would have followed the young couple, played by SUPERSTORE’s Nichole Sakura and Johnny Pemberton, as they “balance[d] their big dreams with the harsh realities of being a blue-collar family in America.” The script was penned by Kyle and Vicky Luu.
The SUPERSTORE finale didn’t work the potential spinoff into its plans, opting to have Cheyenne (Sakura) work at a Sturgis & Sons rather than set up what the new show might entail. “Because [BO & CHEYENNE is] still in early stages, we’re treating the show like its own entity,” SUPERSTORE co-showrunner Jonathan Green said earlier in the year.
