THE ROOKIE: Emily Deschanel to Guest Star as Nolan’s Ex-Wife

A family emergency brings Nolan (Nathan Fillion) face-to-face with his ex-wife on the Sunday, May 2 episode of THE ROOKIE.

At the end of the Sunday, April 18 hour of the ABC drama, Nolan’s dinner with his son took a tragic turn, with Henry (Zayne Emory) collapsing out of nowhere.

With Henry heading to the ER—and in serious danger—Nolan’s ex-wife, Sarah, comes to town, and the parents are forced to figure out how to approach their son’s failing healt. Playing the role of Nolan’s former spouse? BONES star Emily Deschanel, Give Me My Remote has confirmed.

Though Sarah has been mentioned throughout the first three seasons of the ABC series—including being a key reason why Nolan broke up with Grace (Ali Larter) during their first try at romance decades ago—the May hour will be the first time viewers meet her. (And the visit will be brief, as Deschanel is currently only scheduled for a one-off guest appearance.)

In addition to BONES, Deschanel has also appeared on ANIMAL KINGDOM, THE SIMPSONS, SUPERSTORE, and LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT.
