About Last Night…SEAL TEAM, CHICAGO P.D., A MILLION LITTLE THINGS, and More

Let’s talk about Wednesday night’s TV!
THE GOLDBERGS: Erica and Geoff are getting married! Anyone low-key terrified of what mother-of-the-bride-to-be Bev is going to be like? Because oh my GOD, that could be a hilarious mess.
CHICAGO MED: Oh boy…how the heck do Natalie and Will get out of this? And, like, it’s very possible Natalie won’t, but Will, seemingly, still will have a job? And he, at the very least, knows what’s going on now.
Also, the COVID lungs are terrifying?? You’d think/hope testing would catch it prior to a transplant, but thank goodness April was there to save the day.
THE MASKED SINGER: I feel like this maybe is the closest finalist group the show has had? (Though last year was also really close, too.) It’ll be interesting to see how it shakes out.
HOME ECONOMICS: I’m so glad the book secret is out there and that Tom got a win and the agent wants to work with him. While this could have worked as a series finale, I’m so glad we’re getting more.
CHICAGO FIRE: Was I the only one alarmed that something tragic was going to happen during Severide’s proposal? It was gorgeous and romantic and them, but it WAS STILL A BURNING BUILDING.
And, well, now that Brett has heard Casey straight-up say he’s in love with her, what is she going to do now? It feels like she has to move forward, but it’s CHICAGO FIRE, and there’s a cliffhanger coming, so… [For more on the finale, here’s what EP Derek Haas teased.]
THE CONNERS: I’m so, so happy for Dan that Louise said yes. Sadly, I’m not surprised that Ben said no to Darlene—the duo had been on different pages for months, and while her gesture was nice/big, it doesn’t solve their immediate issues. So I’m also glad they didn’t rush into an engagement and have it fall apart in a big way. (Also, protect Becky and Jackie, please.) [For more on what went down in the finale, here’s what the EPs had to say.]
SEAL TEAM: David Boreanaz always does a gorgeous job directing, and with the news that SEAL TEAM is heading to Paramount+, I’m so curious to see how the show—and potentially its act break/structure—shifts and if that allows him to experiment even more behind the camera.
For those keeping track at home, my concern ranking for characters has now shifted and it’s very firmly #1 Ray and #2 Sonny. Both men really need to catch a break, because it’s clear they’re struggling with the mission.
CHICAGO P.D.: Protect. Kim. Burgess.
I cannot imagine the guilt Miller will feel for the rest of her life. I’ve really enjoyed watching her this season, but I do wonder if this is close to the end of the line for her, because…I don’t know how you continue to do this job with that over your head.
But also: Protect Kim Burgess.
[For more on what’s to come in the finale, here’s what Marina Squerciati and LaRoyce Hawkins teased.]
A MILLION LITTLE THINGS: Oh, poor Sophie. The knowledge that she wasn’t the only victim of her teacher? That has to be so much.
And, uh, how worried should we be about Gina?
I do feel awful for Theo, too, who was told in maybe the worst possible way his parents were splitting? But, yeah, I’m with Eddie: I don’t necessarily believe Grace is really going to split custody of Theo.
